Stinky Pits to Annecy Animation Market and beyond!!!
A HYBRID-ANIMATED GROSS-OUT COMEDY FOR KIDS FROM THEIR OWN TWISTED MINDS!!
Our amazing now 12-year-old daughter FRIDA and I created the STINKY PITS series, which was optioned at the Floating Rock Pitchfest, and received investment and support from the team at Floating Rock Studio, concept art and animation by Charlie Faulks, and a pitch deck by Christina Feng. Producer Francesca Carney pitched the series at the 2025 Annecy International Animation Market and international co-production negotiations are currently underway. We are so proud of our girl and the mahi we've put into our original IP.

Working with long time collaborator Dean Hewison, Ben co-wrote and produced theatre shows FOOTBALLISTIC and HYPNOTASTIC, starring Cohen Holloway and the Fringe Award winning radio comedy series OUT OF BOUNDS SOUNDS.
Ben was senior editor, writer and content producer on THE HOBBIT behind the scenes web-content and extended edition documentaries.
From 2012-2017 Ben performed stand up comedy in Wellington and produced the comedy webseries MIC DROP showcasing Wellington comedians. In the 2017 Fringe Festival Ben wrote and performed the autobiographical comedy show DILF with wife Francesca Carney and directed by Dean Hewison.
In 2020 Ben completed his M.A. in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) from Victoria University of Wellington’s International Institute of Modern Letters. In 2021 Ben was commissioned to write a series of digital animated books LITTLE BIG THINKERS for Rascality Media. The two animated stories and short films directed by Jaimee Poipoi premiered at the 2023 10th Maoriland Film Festival 2023, 2023 Show Me Shorts Film Festival and is in series development with Rascality Media.
