ANIMATED GROSS-OUT COMEDY FOR KIDS
FROM THEIR OWN TWISTED MINDS!!
Our amazing 9 year old daughter FRIDA and I have been developing the STINKY PITS series for a year or so and we successfully pitched it at Floating Rock Pitchfest 2023 making it through to Round 2!!! There were some amazing pitches and we made it through from the original 64 pitches to the final 3 from our round.
Thanks to the investment and support from the team at Floating Rock Studio and Hillfarrance we can now put more time and money into developing the series, concept art, and pitch deck to take to the next Pitchfest in 2024. So proud of our girl and the mahi we've put into our original IP. Now it's TIME TO GET STINKY!!!
Working with long time collaborator Dean Hewison, Ben co-wrote and produced theatre shows FOOTBALLISTIC and HYPNOTASTIC, starring Cohen Holloway and the Fringe Award winning radio comedy series OUT OF BOUNDS SOUNDS.
Ben was senior editor, writer and content producer on THE HOBBIT behind the scenes web-content and extended edition documentaries.
From 2012-2017 Ben performed stand up comedy in Wellington and produced the comedy webseries MIC DROP showcasing Wellington comedians. In the 2017 Fringe Festival Ben wrote and performed the autobiographical comedy show DILF with wife Francesca Carney and directed by Dean Hewison.
In 2020 Ben completed his M.A. in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) from Victoria University of Wellington’s International Institute of Modern Letters. In 2021 Ben was commissioned to write a series of digital animated books LITTLE BIG THINKERS for Rascality Media. The two animated stories and short films directed by Jaimee Poipoi premiered at the 2023 10th Maoriland Film Festival 2023, 2023 Show Me Shorts Film Festival and is in series development with Rascality Media.
